Preferred registration deadline: August 9th

3 CEUs/CPH units

Nonprofits face serious challenges in recruiting and retaining quality staff in the current economic climate.  This class will focus on critical strategies and evidence-based practices for supporting new staff during the first year after hire.

Participants will become familiar with ways to create a culture and environment that promotes high expectations and peer support, learn practical and creative strategies for supporting new staff, and problem solve ways to improve their organization's efforts to orient and train new staff.

This interactive class will involve lecture, discussion, and small group exercises. Participants should come prepared to share information about their organization.

General Admission: $60**

Class size is limited to 35.

**Discounts on admission are offered to the Brown School’s students, recent alumni (for 2 years after graduation), other alumni (more than 2 years after graduation), field instructors, faculty, and staff. We also offer a discount to full-time graduate students in other programs and to our Washington University colleagues. No other discounts are available.
